Xiaomi teases “world first” feature for Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus ahead of January 4 launch in India

The Redmi Note 13 Pro series headlined by the top-shelf Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is coming to India on January 4, 2024. As is usually the case with these things, Xiaomi has started teasing the ins and outs of the phone on social media, including what is being billed as the world debut of MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Ultra in India. The Dimensity 7200 Ultra is a relatively new chip. MediaTek had launched it silently in September and the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus was announced as the first phone to come powered by it.

Based on TSMC’s 4-nanometre process, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra has an 8-core CPU with two ARM Cortex-A715 cores clocked at up to 2.8GHz joined by six Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G610. The SoC (System-on-chip) also has a dedicated APU 650. The most evident aspect of the chip, that even the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus makes use of, is the support for 200-megapixel camera with 4K@30fps video recording.

The version sold in China has a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging. For photography, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus comes with a trio of sensors with a 200-megapixel main sensor and another 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies.
