Tier 1 supplier Samvardhana Motherson International (SAMIL) has announced two new acquisitions, which will see it incur an expenditure of Rs 562 crore, to further strengthen its product offering.
The company will acquire engineering specialist Deltacarb, which manufactures and sells special and standard tungsten carbide-based products for various industrial applications (such as Stamping, Wear resistant parts, Metal working, Mining etc.). it has a manufacturing facility in Switzerland.
SAMIL also will acquire Lumen Australia Group, which is engaged in the design, manufacture and supply of OEM-certified automotive parts, accessories and dealer-fit products. The company had a revenue of AUD 106.4 million with EBITDA margin of 13.7% (Year ending 30th June 2023). This will be for a consideration of AUD 93 million (Rs 519 crore). This will give SAMIL entry into the OEM branded genuine accessories segment, which is a highly lucrative segment globally. The company says thesynergy between the product range presents an opportunity for cross-selling. Opportunity to explore untapped business potential by upselling from its global locations to genuine accessories and dealer-fit segment.
