Assam’s Rangapara railway station is getting renovated under the Amrit Bharat Stations, the Ministry of Railways shared the images in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The post states that the station would receive lifts, escalators, waiting halls, and modern amenities after the renovation.

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
Launched in August this year, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to renovate and modernise railway stations across the country. The scheme will upgrade 1,309 railway stations and explore various models of development and/or maintenance of railway stations including Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), non-EPC modes, etc. and some stations under the Public-Private Partnership.
The scheme has listed 1309 railway stations across the country, where renovation would take place. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of railway stations among all states, about 156, covered under the scheme. This is followed by Maharashtra (126), West Bengal (98), Bihar (92), and Gujarat (87).
New Investment
According to the latest media report, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the government plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in the coming times to replace the ageing rolling stock for which India would have to replace 7.000-8,000 new train sets.
