Rajasthan Cabinet Ministers portfolios: Bhajanlal Sharma, a first time MLA from Sanganer, was on Friday sworn in as the Rajasthan Chief Minister alongside Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa who took oath as Deputy CMs.
Bhajanlal Sharma was administered the oath of office and secrecy shortly after 1 PM in front of Jaipur’s Albert Hall in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and several other union and chief ministers. His appointment was announced on Tuesday during the BJP legislature meeting in the presence of the party’s central observer Rajnath Singh, and co-observers Saroj Paney and Vinod Tawde. Bhajanlal becomes the sixth BJP CM and 15th Chief Minister of the state, succeeding Ashok Gehlot of Congress party.

The appointment comes after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed victory in Rajasthan by winning 115 while the party’s rival Congress bagged only 69 seats. Polling was held on 199 of the 200 assembly seats in the state on November 25. Bhajanlal Sharma emerged victorious in the Sanganer Assembly seat securing 1,45,162 votes and defeating Pushpendra Bhardwaj of Congress by a margin of 97,081.
