The OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are officially launching globally, India included, on January 23, 2024, OnePlus announced today. The OnePlus R-series, which has remained India exclusive so far, is also going global with the OnePlus 12R, for the first time. Both confirmations were made through a video released by the company to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.
The OnePlus 12 was launched on December 5 as a follow-up to the OnePlus 11 with newer hardware including Qualcomm’s fastest chip and an attractive price tag. The OnePlus 12R was also expected to launch alongside (under OnePlus’s China-only Ace branding) but it was a no show. But with OnePlus confirming the existence of the product now, we might get to hear more about it soon enough. It probably should launch in China in the coming days before the big global unveiling.
For photography, the OnePlus 12 has a triple camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel main Sony LYT-808 sensor, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 sensor behind an ultrawide lens and another 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor behind a 3x periscope telephoto lens. On the front, the 12 has a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.

The OnePlus 12 and 12R will be launched at OnePlus’s “Smooth Beyond Belief” launch event on January 23, 2024. The livestream will kick-off at 7:30 PM.
