The final wait is over as lakhs of CAT candidates have been awaiting for results to be announced by the Indian Institute of Management, IIM Lucknow. The result have been announced on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. Candidates are advised to keep a check on the official website as server can go down due to traffic.
As per the statistics, there are around 3.3 lakh candidates who appeared for CAT 2023, conducted on December 26, 2023. In the previous year, 2022, IIM Bangalore announced the result on December 21, 2022, and 11 candidates topped the exam with 100 percentile. This year, reports have suggested that 14 candidates have secured 100 percentile and 29 students who bagged 99.99 percentile.
Engineers took the lead in securing top ranks this time. Out of the candidates with a 100 percentile score, 11 are from an engineering background, while 3 come from non-engineering backgrounds. The toppers hail from various states, with one each from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala. Maharashtra has 4 toppers, and Telangana has 2.
Looking ahead, the IIM admission process, after the CAT 2023 results are declared, may involve a Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI). Aspirants should be prepared for these additional steps in the admission procedure.
