ANAC Unveils Airworthiness Criteria: A Milestone for Eve Air Mobility’s eVTOL Certification

Eve Air Mobility has revealed its proposed airworthiness criteria for public input. The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) introduced these criteria, marking a significant step in certifying Eve’s electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

ANAC has opened the proposed criteria for public consultation until mid-February 2024. Following this period, ANAC will review the feedback, potentially making adjustments before finalizing the certification basis. Once finalized, Eve and ANAC will shift focus to determining the means of compliance for eVTOL certification. ANAC stands as the primary authority for certifying Eve’s eVTOL project.

Eve commenced the Type Certificate process for its eVTOL with ANAC in February 2022. This process adheres to airworthiness requirements outlined in Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulations, following procedures for obtaining a “special class category” aircraft Type Certificate.

In a notable move towards global recognition, Eve has also formalized Type Certificate validation with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is actively pursuing concurrent validation.

Taking a comprehensive approach to its eVTOL project, Eve collaborates with entities like ANAC to shape the future of urban air mobility. The company aims to provide a safe, sustainable alternative for commuters while continuously improving the design and capabilities of its aircraft, integrating cutting-edge technology seamlessly into the sector. This dedication positions Eve to advance urban air transportation and contribute to the evolution of efficient, technology-driven solutions in the field.
