The 2024 round of the Destination Australia program offers scholarship funding of up to $15,000 per student, per year, for approximately 550 domestic and international students commencing their studies in 2024.
Destination Australia funds eligible education providers to offer scholarships to domestic and international students to study and live in regional Australia. Thirty-two education providers have been approved to offer 551 scholarships to students through the 2024 program. The Destination Australia Program defines a regional location as any area outside of Major Cities of Australia.
To be eligible for the Destination Australia Program, international students need to maintain a valid student visa for the duration of their scholarship and accept an offer of full-time study program. To apply for the Destination Australia Program, students have to apply for scholarships directly with successful education providers.
Anthony Chisholm, Assistant Minister for Education and Assistant Minister for Regional Development, announced the outcomes of the 2024 funding round of the Destination Australia Program on 5 December 2023. More than $23 million in scholarships will be awarded to help 551 students at 87 regional campuses undertake tertiary education opportunities over the next four years.
