The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) School of Performing Arts (SoPA) has announced admissions for the upcoming academic year for its B.A. Music – Indian Music (Vocal/Sitar) and B.A. Music – Western Contemporary (Vocals /Piano/Guitar/Drums) programmes, as per the official announcement.
The school has also introduced a concept called ‘Naad Expression’, which is a monthly concert for both Indian and Western Contemporary music students where students get an opportunity to perform in the presence of faculties and accordingly they receive the feedback & the guidance. This experiential learning tool strengthens their learning at SoPA.
Meanwhile, the B.A. program in Music – Western Contemporary Music (Vocals | Piano | Guitar | Drums) provides students with comprehensive training in theory, practical skills, and technology. The program is taught by industry leaders who offer students the opportunity to work with famous musicians, composers and production houses during a 40-hour internship program in their third year.
“Several students these days are open to pursuing education which is offbeat and are willing to follow their passion for performing arts, especially music. The NMIMS School of Performing Arts provides a great opportunity to learn music from the best in the field which opens up flourishing career avenues for aspiring musicians, be it vocals or instruments,” Vikas Bharadwaj, dean, School of Performing Arts, said.
Eligibility criteria:
Both programmes require candidates to have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations in any stream and obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate.
