The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held discussions on Sunday to discuss the plans for cabinet formation in the recently triumphed states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and also chalk out an action plan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The discussions took place at the residence of BJP’s national president, J P Nadda. The first meeting was called at around 5.30 pm in which organisation’s general secretary, BL Santosh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Premchand Bairwa, and others were present.
The gathering was marked by discussions on the party’s agenda. The focus of the meeting extended to ensuring the timely implementation of promises made in the manifesto related to the recent assembly elections before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. BL Santosh highlighted the importance of the visible fulfillment of commitments to the public.
The BJP’s victory in Rajasthan, securing 115 seats against the Congress’s 69, moved first-time MLA Bhajanlal Sharma to the position of Chief Minister, with Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa sworn in as deputy chief ministers.

Subsequently, a similar meeting on Chhattisgarh’s cabinet formation was convened at Nadda’s residence on Sunday, where Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and deputy chief ministers Arun Sahu and Vijay Sharma were present. This meeting addressed the key aspects of the state’s governance.
On December 13, Chhattisgarh’s swearing-in ceremony saw Vishnu Sai taking an oath at Science College Ground. The BJP secured victory in 54 out of 90 assembly seats, defeating Congress which bagged only 35 seats.
The third meeting was focused on Madhya Pradesh’s cabinet formation. The meeting saw the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, deputy chief ministers Rajendra Shukla, and Jagdish Deora. Mohan Yadav was sworn in as Chief Minister on December 13.
Madhya Pradesh went to the polls for 230 assembly seats in a single phase on November 17, and vote counting was done on December 3. The BJP secured a commanding 163 seats, while the Congress won only 66 seats.
