Vivo launched the S18 series in China today, per schedule. The lineup is headlined by the Vivo 18 Pro. It is joined by the Vivo S18 and a dialled down Vivo S18e. The S18 and S18 Pro share many specs, the deign is the same, too, with major differences coming by way of processor and cameras. The S18e tones down things quite a bit for obvious reasons, though the aesthetics and hardware are appealing for the price.
Vivo S18, S18 Pro specs, features
The Vivo S18 and S18 Pro have the same 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K (1,260×2,800p) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. You get a hole punch cutout in both phones housing the same 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus.
For photography, while the Vivo S18 Pro has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 main sensor, 50-megapixel ultrawide, and another 12-megapixel 2x telephoto, the S18 gets a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50E main paired to another 8-megapixel OmniVision OV08D10 ultrawide.
Vivo S18e specs, features
The Vivo S18e has a 6.67-inch 1080p+ AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and the Dimensity 7200 at helm paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Software is again OriginOS. Powering the Vivo S18e is a 4,800mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
For photography, the S18e has a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main and another 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
Vivo S18 series prices, availability
The S18e starts at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs 24,500). The S18 starts at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs 27,000) while the S18 Pro starts at CNY 3,199 (roughly Rs 37,500). The phone will be available starting January 13.
