Hours after Bhajanlal Sharma assumed the role of Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, the state administration executed “temporary” appointments of three IAS officers in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Friday.
T Ravikanth, a seasoned 1998-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been given the charge as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, succeeding IAS officer Kuldeep Ranka, the former principal secretary to ex-Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Simultaneously, Anandhi, an IAS officer of the 2007 batch, has been designated as the Secretary to the Chief Minister, while Saumya Jha, a 2017-batch IAS officer, assumes the role of the Chief Minister’s Joint Secretary on a temporary basis.
The directive outlining these appointments was issued by the Department of Personnel, citing the need for immediate administrative adjustments in light of the change in leadership.
