ITC emerges as frontrunner among FMCG companies in Wizikey Newsmakers Report 2023, HUL, Nestle follows

FMCG major ITC Ltd emerged as the frontrunner securing the top position as India’s most prominent FMCG listed companies in media visibility, in the Wizikey Newsmakers Report 2023. Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) claimed the second spot on the rankings followed by Nestle India Ltd, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Limited and Marico Ltd. The report highlights the media visibility and coverage of these industry giants, emphasizing their significance and impact within the FMCG sector and the overall industry in India.

ITC boasts a News Score of 78.3. In comparison, the second-place holder, HUL, achieved a score of 72.07, while Nestle India closely followed with 72 points. There exists a substantial gap between the leading company and the next two positions, underscoring the significant visibility and coverage gap between the leader and the next two spots.

ITC achieved remarkable superiority, leading by a significant margin in every parameter including news volume, headline presence, publication reach and readership. Specifically, in the volume parameter with a score of 216.8k, ITC excelled by a staggering 167 per cent. In the headlines category, scoring 31.5k, ITC surged ahead by 136 per cent. Furthermore, in the number of publications, recording a score of 14.3k, ITC maintained a lead of 90 per cent. Lastly, with a Cumulative Reach score of 74Bn, ITC secured a 58 per cent advantage over HUL.

Now in its 5th Edition, the rankings are derived from an analysis of over 30 million data points encompassing 1700+ brands.
